Founded by Lana Hellers, born in Belgium to an Icelandic mother and a Luxembourgish father, MODHAUS Interiors is an interior design studio based in Lisbon.

After more than a decade in Luxembourg, in a career in the tax field, I chose a new pace. In 2023, we moved to Lisbon with our son — a return to my husband's roots and the beginning of a path more aligned with what has always motivated me.

I don't create perfect interiors just to be photographed. I create spaces for the people who live in them.

Human contact is at the heart of my work. Before thinking about colors, materials, or furniture, I seek to understand stories, rhythms, and emotions—because that's where each project begins.

Everything around me inspires me. The simplest things, even the most mundane: the morning light, a conversation, an atmosphere.

Nature is my greatest source of inspiration — in the unexpected colors of the seasons, in the organic shapes of trees, in the serenity of natural elements. But I also find inspiration in the places where human beings create: in journeys that broaden horizons, in exhibitions that awaken the gaze, in architecture that balances technique and emotion.

It is in this encounter between nature and design, between simplicity and innovation, that my work takes shape.

My approach is sensitive, intuitive, and profoundly human.
